Congrats Grizz272....we are in the same boat, so to speak...my signature TV has 1180 miles, and we just ordered a 2019 Cedar Creek 5ver to replace our 2009. We had to tell the dealer to hold off on placing the order until the next production run happens, as we can not drive the 800 miles to pick it up until late June.

I think we will have to take most of our equipment with us to swap into new rig, because we plan on other stops on the way home. Can't wait for June to get here.

I am in trouble. I may have to sleep in the camper. Apparently telling the wife that she can't cut a pizza with kitchen scissors is over the line. Then adding we would need a pizza cutter is also wrong. I guess having a pizza cutter takes up too much space.
For the record we have never had an oven to cook pizza in. It has never been on our list of camping food.
May be the camper is not such a bad idea after all.

The fuel economy gauge in my Ford is not even close to accurate. I've had three Ford 6.7s. The 2011 was exactly accurate. The 2016 was consistently ready high by 7%. That is it consistently told me I was burning more fuel than I actually was. The 2017 tells me I'm getting up to 10% better mileage than I actually am able to get. Hopefully yours is telling you your burning more fuel than you actually burn. The old model Ford displayed liters used ... the 2017 only display liters per 100 or mpg so you have to actually do some math to realize how inaccurate the dic is.

So what did you get and how long? I’d love to get 8.5mpg with my set up. My truck is +/- 7.0 mpg when fully loaded. That is sure to change as our new trailer on order is longer and heavier.

The beast is home. It seems to have gotten taller and longer than when we bought it in December. The ride home was unexciting. We had a bit of wind but no real problems. I was prepared for the fuel mileage , but I was caught by surprise how fast the fuel gauge seemed to be going down. MPG was 8.5
We stopped on the way home for dinner, I looked out a sheriff's deputy is doing a slow drive around the camper. Then when we came out there was a deputy setting behind the camper just setting there. Apparently a bank had been robbed earlier in the day and Leo's were very visible.
Any way it was raining when we got home so I decided to wait till today to turn the rig around. I took it slow and I did not need forty acres so I am happy.
The DW is already loading the camper up. Hopefully every thing will fit. The dog seems to like the camper. He was laying in front of the fire place most of tonight.

Congrats on the new rig. I think there is something about owning a 5th wheel that feels kind of special.

We are definitely guilty of accumulating clutter in our house but not in our truck and trailer. We have always bought our replacement before selling the old one. Anything we want gets moved directly from one to the other. The rest is given away or thrown out.

Dutchman, Oh man you described us to a T when we got our new rig last year. Still have stuff in garage and shed.
