Trailer king Tires

Buying new fifth wheel. It has trailer king tires on it. Would I be better off to put my one year old Carlisle tires on this camper or leave the new trailer king tires on it?

As the others have said, if you've got 16" wheels on the new rig, put LTs on it. If you're still on 15s, personally, I'd feel better about the year old Carlisles than the other stuff. At least they're making an effort to bring up their quality with the RH. I'm in my 3rd year on a set of RH E's and they still look good and ride well. YMMV...

I would simply tell the dealer that if he wants to sell the trailer,...the Chinese junk comes off and replace with an appropriate load range US made tire....no additional cost to you.

WE dumped the Chinese junk and had Hankook (mfg. in S. Korea) load range G tires (16 inch) installed.

If the tires in question are the ST235/85 x 16, then I would immediately replace them with some good LT tires, or the trailer tires from Sailun. If you do it now, you'll bypass possible damage to your trailer when they blow out.

I did this when I took delivery of my 2013 fiver, and this was part of my deal. I went with Firestone Transforce Highway tread LTs, also had them balanced. I wasnt going to spend that kind of $ and ride on Chinese junk.

Towing I have more weight on the TV tires than the trailer tires. My 5er has a GVWR of 12,360# the 235/80-16 E tires have a capacity of 3,042 so 12,168 - 2,400 pin = 9,768# on the tires, at max load.

Ya, right...well that and the fact that most new RVs come with the cheapest junk they can hang on them to get them delivered...

X2 he,s right, and there both china bombs. your spending a big chunk of money on your new rv,don,t go cheap on the most important part. a blown tire can do thousands of dollars of damage to the under carriage of your rv.
