My stepson has asked me to move a 1996 Travel Surpreme 40RLTSO triple axle trailer he purchase in Oregon 120 miles north to a lot he has on the Columbia River. It is all flat traveling and the trailer is empty.

I can handle up to about 3500 pin weight.

BTW, if anyone has a similar 1996 M-40RLTSO(or other year) that can provide some info that would be great.

GVWR?
GAWR?

Fresh Water Capacity
Black Water Capacity
Grey Water Capacity

And any other details, as the placard is not readable!

Good follow up Chris. I'm glad to hear it all went well!

It must have been a good load on the 350. It may have been 7000+ on the RA.

Hope the family gets some good use from it!

Jerry

It is a bit of a box of surprises on wheels!!! The solenoid for the ice marker had frozen and linked water, so we had to remove it and block the water line.

Striker on the stove top needs replacement, as it got hot and sticks.

Dead bolt was all broken up inside so we had to install a new one.

Sat dish removed from roof without sealing the screw holes. Jeff is going to get a tube of Dicor and seal these and over areas.

Broken doors on the shore power cord and truck cable.

Someone put 50 AMP RV power on the lot without a circuit breaker?? Lot has two 30RV outlets and that do have the correct breakers. 200Amp panel with main breaker. Has a GFI 15/20amp conv outlet in panel with no breaker!!

Positive! The seller installed 6 new Gladiator LRG tires. With two deep opposing slide the living room is really big.

It has a black tank wash connection.

Actually for a 1996 trailer it has a lot of "modern" features!

We positioned it so the sewer connection is under the front of the trailer just behind landing gear. This will keep the sewer hose out of the Eastern Washington summer sun.

The lot is big enough that we were able to drive right around the trailer as we ran for supplies, lunch and go play 9 holes at the Desert Aire county golf course, on the Columbia River.

Well, we had it delivered yesterday and got it set up. Spent several hours fixing issue and making a list of needed items.

Delivery was with a SRW F350 with tires rated to 3750. It was squatting a bit, however no air bags.

Looks like dry pin weight was 3500-4000.

I hate to tell you this, however I have a 2000 much like your 1996. Here is a link to my sticker for my trailer. My hitch weigh is about 4600# I tow with an International 4400. These trailer are built heavy.

Do you know you dry pin weight? This does not have washer or dryer, it does however have a generator. Other than that it is bare. But sounds like we need to hire some to move it.

I can not view your picture for some reason. I will try sending you a PM with an email address. Chris

I don't know what the dry weight is, but I do have a washer dryer, however your generator is in the front and close to the pin, my washer is further back.

We know a couple that had about the biggest TS made and the truck was a f-250 diesel. 1999 model year. It was ugly but full timing and carrying concrete pigs made for a heavy rv. That is what I call brain dead.

Well sure we are not "Brain Dead". Just happen to own one of the most over sprung, under rated TV out there.
The 2nd gen 2500, had a 8,800# GVWR, adding the Camper Package included larger tires, and one ton springs, but nothing changed on the VIN sticker! Tires listed as 245/75-16E's Build sheet states came with 265/75-16E's. I carry my load without bags, 11,000# 5er no issues. Stopping is no issue also, plenty of brake!

Pull heck yes, last weekend got stuck in the stop and go traffic in Lincoln City, OR, very hilly, idled up one with the truck in 1st an my foot sitting on the floor.

That Travel Supreme weighs more 'dry' then your Cardinal does fully loaded.

It has a dry weight of 14,500# so that would roughly be 2900# dry pin weight.

Curb weight on your truck is around 3840# rear axle....RAWR is 6084# leaving 2244# minus hitch....2000#
Truck is only rated to tow 11,650# (properly equipped and using mfg. magical max tow rating system)
And it only has a GVWR of 8800#

You will be over gross, you will be over rear axle/rear tires, over tow capacity......

But it's flat........

3/4 ton towing that kind of weight, pin weight alone he is overweight, It would be iffy with a SRW 1 ton.

But it's flat
