I just wanted to post my upgrade experience, I had the OEM towmax tires on my 2012 Avalanche 320rk, they were manufactured in 2011, but had less than 1500 miles on them.After reading all the stories and seeing all of the pictures of the blowout damage, I didnt want to risk it any more so I made the investment in the Sailun s637.I had the tire shop unmount one of the towmaxes so I could compare it side by side to the Towmax and there is a huge difference in their physical construction. The sidewalls in the s637 are way stiffer, and there is a big difference in weight Im guessing ~25lbs heavier.I bought them from http://www.trailertiresandwheels.com/ and I was very pleased with their price and service. I would recommend them to anyone. They were able to fit me in same day and also cut me a deal on a set of 4. Running those tires on that weight of RV at MAX psi is a BAD idea. 85 psi is where I bet you should be using the weight/inflation chart and adding 5 psi.

Sailun does not publish a inflation chart that I am aware of, where are you getting your data on that Cummins12V98?

If I know what I think I know, but who knows what they don't know, just about all load/pressure charts should be the same. The load for a 235-80-16 LR "E", for example, should be the same whether it is a Goodyear or Sailun. That said, look at a load table for your weights, assuming you know the load on your tires. Then adjust accordingly. But be aware that some brands (Carlisle) highly recommend running ST tires at max pressure. However, I have seen a "cut and pasted" email from a Sailun rep that said Sailun is OK running their tires at less than max IF it is within the load range.If you are running an un-necessarily high pressure you can shake the trailer a lot and possibly damage the suspension and/or contents. Also the tread footprint may not be maximized. This may be what "Cummins" is getting at. We don't need to discuss unsprung weight and added rotational weight, do we? lol Be sure your wheels are rated for the pressure you are running.

You are correct on the import duty. Sailun markets two similar tires, close but not exact. The S637 is sold as an LT235/85R16 that is LT branded and has 2/32 more tread depth than the ST variant (12/32 vs 10/32). Another owner called HiSpec and was told the very same wheel was good to 110psi as long as you added metal stems.

I don't know what to think about wheels. I have Tredit TO3. I called them to ask about PSI rating. First answer was "I don't see anything here about max PSI". OK, I think I need to talk with someone else. She said: "Do not exceed 80PSI they could fail". Etrailer sells a wheel that looks just like a Tredit TO3 with higher ratings. I can't imagine there are several different wheel factories in China producing wheels that look exactly alike with different PSI ratings. I'm going to err on the side of safety and stay at 80 PSI until I decide to spend $500 on different wheels.

I could be all mixed up on this, but I THINK I have read that there is a different import duty on ST tires vs. regular vehicle tires. I believe I read that Sailun just re-branded the S637 tires to ST to avoid that. But I could be way off base on that.

Maxxis makes tires in those sizes and is heavy duty compared to BlowMax. Got mine from Amazon and had installed locally. 4 years and 25,000 miles later, they are doing fine and will be replaced next summer.

^^^^^^Ah, that's right. I was mistaken in my interpretation of "all position", I thought they were saying only tires that can be used in "all positions". That's not what they meant though. They meant tires in any position. Doh.

Sorry, I was wrong about how I read the chart. I'm not sure I want to drop down to 70 psi for my tires though. I only have a max of 2500 lbs/tire so I guess I could. Next trip maybe I'll vary the pressures and see what happens to the tire temperatures. If they don't change much then we'll see how it goes.

The chart for the ST tires says the same thing. ST tires are trailer only.

I don't think it matters, these are load inflation tables, not application tables.

My thought would be that if it says "For Trailer Use Only" it means they aren't recommended for steering or power driving position. That's what it says to me.

To be technical GY said to weigh EACH tire if possible and to use the weight of the HEAVIEST tire per axle, add 5psi to that weight. So it is possible to be running two different AXLE pressures especially if you are nose high for example.
