Does anyone know what type of plastic Weekend Warrior water tanks are made from? I was tearing up and replacing the flooring and grazed one of the freshwater tanks with a sawsall. It's a small cut and I have been reading up on plastic welding. I can get a welder for about $70 at Northern Tool and the welding process seems pretty easy. The only problem is that you have to know what type of plastic that you are working with and get the right plastic "welding rods". I figure the plastic is HDPE, LDPE, or polypropylene. Does anyone know which plastic I should get. The model is a 2006 FS2300 and the plastic tank is black if that means anything.

It should be the same as any tank in other RVs, because the there's only a few suppliers of water tanks.Wish I had the answer.Is the tank translucent white? Usually the fresh tanks are white, but I don't know the material they are made of.

Fresh tanks are not abs & the abs cement will not adhere to the poly.

Took it to Kevin. He's seen a bunch of them like like in Sierra's. Getting fixed at the end of the month.

YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO PATCH THOSE TANKS WITH THE PLASTIC FROM A PIECE OF ABS PLASTIC ,CUT THE PLASTIC INTO 1/4 INCH STRIPS ABOUT 5 INCHES LONG GET A SMALL TORCH AND WARM THE AREA THE NEEDS THE PATCH AND MELT THE STRIP OF ABS WHILE FILLING IN WATEVER NEEDS FILLING.

Some are rigid but in my Keystone it's flexible kinda like a bladder.

I just sprang a leak in my Sierra TH. 50 gal water tank, black color. Tried JB weld and "flex seal". did fine till I moved the trailer then she leaked again!!! LOL

If it is just a small cut like you say, on top of the tank, why not just use heat to weld/melt together the tank material that is already there...? most are 1/4-3/8" thick walled. Should be plenty of material there to fix a small cut.
