Thinking of installing a BluRay player in our BigHorn 3670. $5.99/movie from DirecTV is too much, but we enjoy an occasional movie night.My question to the fulltimers is, how do you get your movies? Redbox? Do you join every local store you pass through? Is there a mail order place still out there that you like?Thanks in advance.

You can use any Redbox kiosk. Just make sure you browse and reserve the movie at the nearest kiosk.

Although I dont use it camping as yet, you might look into Netflix. Its about 9 dollars a month with unlimited streaming of movies. For the naysayers you can stream wireless as I do it often with my home TV. If the campground has ample wi fi capabilities you can get a blue ray player or other HD player that has wi fi built within. Use it to connect to Netflix which is usually already within the menu of the device. Since I have Direct TV i just take one of my boxes with us and use and outside tv. Plenty to watch.

I've never been one to rewatch a movie to often. Once I've seen it, I'm usually done with it. A few exceptions, that I'll rewatch every couple of years but thats just me. That said, with the cost of data plans for mobile internet and very few that are unlimited, If your talking about a significant number over the course of a month, the best options right now are either buying the DVD, buying on Direct or Dish. One other option I read about was someone that had a family member buy movies and many come with the digital copy that you can upload to a PC/laptop/Ipad. Their family member would always send them the digital copy certificate or DVD and they could then either pop it in the blueray player or download it when they got somewhere that had a solid, fast wireless connection.I've never thought $5.99 was a bad price for a movie when it costs 3 times that to go to a theater or 4 times that to buy the DVD/Blueray.

It's not fair to others.

Redbox and you can reserve online and/or check availability. You can even rent in one state and return somewhere else.

We have DirecTV and carry a portable Satellite dish with us. But that's only when we snow-bird for the winter. We don't bother when we're off camping for a week or less. We do buy those $3 to $5 DVD movies at WalMart and those Dollar type stores. They have a wide selection of subject choice but I love the Horror movies. :) We've gotten 8 movies in a set for $5. There are usually 4 to 6. One seen we don't care to watch them again. We either donate them or trade them at the Clubhouse were we stayed.

Something like this one. Though mine has a removable hard drive, which they don't make any more. Now they come as one unit with an internal hard drive.

It just plugs into the TV with one wire. Even I can do it (and I don't even have a smart phone) It plugs into one of the spare HDMI ports on the back of the TV. Then it's run by it's remote control.

Sounds like something I'll look into. I have a ton of Ken Burns PBS shows and National Geographic specials I'd like to take along for rainy nights!

My Unlimited Data Plan was grandfathered in since I've been with AT&T since before they even laid the cables LOLOLOL!!

Nice. Where do you get an unlimited data plan?

For ones like mine, you hop in the Tardis and go back in time to before when Verizon announced the end of the unlimited plans and get the bundled hotspot deal.

Otherwise, you go through Millenicon and get one of their unlimited bundle deals (which really soft cap out at around 40 odd gigs) that runs on the Verizon network.

I have been using Antennas Direct antenna for a couple of years now and it is easily the best option out there for TV and movies. For the price and ease of setup this is the best setup.
