1200 LRIM Norcold frig issue again!

Well, another issue with the Norcold 1200 LRIM refrigerator. I just got home after a 2800 mile trip to Iowa and the HWH factory(another story).

Emptied the frig, cleaned it up and has been turned off since July 29th. I went out tonight to get something out and saw the high temp sensor box red light blinking. Frig is off so no overheat condition. I had an issue previously and service center could not reset the box so replaced it under warranty with Norcold.

Waiting to call Norcold in the am once again. I will update with what they tell me.....
  • I would be concerned why they boxes keep on tripping. In my opinion, the box is a band aid fix. I went several years with the recall box installed and never had it trip until the fridge finally failed. I replaced the Norcold cooling unit with the Amish one and it lasted/served me well. So,if your cooling unit fails and you want to keep the Norcold, that's something to consider.

I went through all that for three years defending my wife's desire to keep the Norcold. This year we bit the bullet and installed the Samsung. I kick myself for waiting. Maybe it's time for you too..just a thought....Dennis
  • I have never seen a Recall LED "blink". They usually stay ON all the time when tripped. On your recall box is a REV letter. Post what Rev it is. Recall boxes can trip if the refer is NOT on, and you have a 12 volt fluctuation problem. Norcold is not going to tell you anything other than to get it to a Norcold Service center. Doug
  • Yes a strong magnet can be used to reset the 'safety device'

BUT why....if it is tripping erroneously just how much faith in it working when it should.
Get with Norcold and have another box installed.
