When I pulled into Lowe's yesterday morning I saw what could only be a Prevost. I say that because I don't remember ever seeing a silver sided coach that wasn't a Prevost. The owners were doing something in one of the bays so pulled up and started talking to them.Nice people and the coach was gorgeous! They offed me to take a look inside and wow, it had to be about the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. When they told me it was a 1999 I thought they were kidding! It was hard to believe something 18 years old could look like that? It was a 45 ft Marathon conversion that I'm sure some of you recognize!When I walking into the coach there was something nagging at me and then it hit me "no slides"! It had two couches across from each other and I was frankly surprised at the amount of room there was! I understand how nice the extra room is with slides, but this wasn't bad at all.One thing I couldn't quite figure out is on the front of the coach there were the two large windows and then two smaller ones above them. I noticed when I was inside the coach you didn't see them which surprised me? I wanted to ask them but thought it would be a stupid question but it made me curious? I've seen a Prevost on the road now and again but never inside, very very impressive!

Many touring musicians still dont get slides as they are always moving and slides can mess up function while driving. Arlo Guthrie's Prevost doesn't have slides.

I'd be happy with a no slide Prevost. :)

We observed a bus conversion this past winter in the park next to ours for 3 months on a rental lot. It had different designed front and rear caps than bus we had ever seen. The paint and chrome work were immaculate, plus it had a single flush fitting 16' slide on the driver's side. It was Quebec plated, we would have liked to know more about the coach, but we speak no French and the owner was lacking in English skills. The owner did tell us it a '89 MCI conversion "built in Quebec", with a big smile.

2 reason the entertainer Prevost don't have slides is like said above and they also use hotels were ever they perform their act, its just a big fancy limo with a bathroom.

I remember reading once that NASCAR buys Newel and musicians buy Prevost's! Are you sure about them sleeping in hotels? I remember many Country Music artists saying they always stay and sleep in their coaches. Miranda Lambert said she enjoys being in her coach, a Prevost, more than her house! BTW she's one of the top recording artists in the world.

It was just hard to believe that a 1999 coach could look so good. I don't remember the amount of miles on their coach but it was somewhere around 150,000 as I remember? When did Diesel pushers have a stearable tag?

The setup you describe was used by several of the converters but Marathon Coach used them more than any other. The coach was built that way by Prevost in Canada and they changed the top glass to black out for the RV market. They are behind the cabinetry and not used. In later years Prevost dropped the construction of this setup and the painted cap was the only option in the standard XL style Prevost but the larger H series busses retained the 2 sets of glass.
We drive an '88 XL and replaced the 2nd couch up front to give us dramatically more room in that area. No slides and we like it that way. The slides only give you more floor surface to clean! :p :D

Our RV has no slides our friends have slides when camping in winter we heat with 2 portable electric heaters and stay comfortable they have to go buy propane after a week or so of running the furnace + electric heaters.

I suspect a 99 Provest is still worth a ton of money if you could find one for sale. I know I would be proud to own one just no in the budget.
