2000 Monaco 12 volt replacement bulbs

My Monaco has ceramic sockets for small 2 prong 12 volt bulbs. I have tried to find replacement bulbs, but they fit loose in the ceramic socket. The center prong on the original bulb is larger than the replacement bulbs from the local RV store. Has anyone else had this issue and found the correct replacement bulb? Hard to make something loose work correctly.

The difference in size ( the part that goes into the socket ) is almost not noticeable, but really really affects the fit in the ceramic socket. The part that goes into the socket is flat.

They are most likely G4 bulbs. Cheapest place I've found them is Amazon. You can get a pack of 10 at a reasonable price. There is also an LED version at Amazon from Kindeep (20 watt) for $17 for 10. Very good match to the color and output of the halogens.

I replaced all of my halogen bulbs with $1 G4 leds from China on EBay. Found the 12,chip 5050 round disks in warm white worked the best BUT the halogen bulbs had round pins. Putting a small bend in the round pins might make them fit tighter.
This post is my opinion (free advice). It is not intended to influence anyone's judgment nor do I advocate anyone do what I propose.

For old Monaco parts, try Alliance Coach in Wildwood, FL They bought the old Monaco factory service Center in Florida and they had bins of this type of stuff.

Another thing to do is look on ebay and aliexpress.com for led bulbs to match. They are cheap and use a lot less power and are way cooler(temperature) than the halogens that were there originally.
Currently planning for retirement.....planning to build a small home in Nova Scotia for summers and someday year-round. Trying to sort out a good way to spend winters in central Florida as I can't drive anymore.

Maybe adding some solder to your bases might work.

The bulb I have is made of glass, no metal base.

No numbers on the bulb. Going to call Monaco tomorrow, maybe they can help.

Can you read the number on the bulb itself?
