2009/2010 Coachman Mirada 350DS vs Georgetown 350TS

Looking for some insight.

We are looking for a specific floor plan and price range, and the Coachman Mirada 350DS and Georgetown 350TS from 2009 meet those needs (Bunks) and can be had for less than $70K.

I am getting analysis paralysis. Every motorhome has its issues, so I am told. But I cannot find any raving fans. Also only finding maybe 1 or 2 bad reviews that stand out (and we always emphasize the bad over the good). Which of the two, from a manufacture standpoint, are going to have longevity. I have no frame of reference since I am new to RV's.

Intended use...full time RV with 3 people (2 adults, 1 toddler) and a towed car.

I guess I am asking the more general question, Coachman vs Forest River. Where do you come down and why?
  • Coachman only became a unit of FR in late 2008. So, not sure the 2009 model was designed and built under FR management.

I read the recent FR manual, the full time warning relates to condensation and mold risk. I have to imagine that most RV's come with a similar warning.

However, thank you everyone for their input so far

As mentioned above Coachman is a division of Forest River.

Other online forum threads have reported in the past that Forest River MH owners manual shows they are not intended for full time use. Check the manuals in the prospective purchase and/or google the subject.

those are about the most worthless items that can be added to an RV. check prior threads as to people's opinions of them.

    Ditto!
  • I have a 2011 Mirada 32 Ds ( closet instead of bunks). Though its not the top of the line (nor does it cost that much) we love it. It does require repairs and maintenance. I’m handy and try to upgrade when poss. The Mirada is built with economy in mind. So often I find the cheapest components. Would I buy it again? Yes! If you have specific questions please ask. -dave

have 2013bh. has f-53gas. unit has a rough ride. no air bags on suspension. forest river makes coachman. We are full timers.need to look at all items roof fans automatic ? a/c with electric heaters built in ? Coachman is a lower end unit in myopinion. but was in our price range. Old unit was a 94 Airstream MH bought used and it hat all the bells and whistles. but was old and had had a roof leak in the past. You need to check out EVERYTHING each unit has.and compare apples to apples. make sure yiu take a long test driver and get a good feel foe the road and not just fall in love with the looks.
Both made by the same Co.
Condition, condition, condition. Look for maintenance records or at least evidence of proper maintenance and then mileage. One that just sat could need more than one that was used.

  • We have a 2011 GT 350TS and are satisfied. Main vehicle is Ford F53 for both, stove, refrigerator, etc. probably made by the same manufacturers (Dometic). Look for the unit that looks to be taken care of better.
  • what is their construction? aluminum framing or wood, roof rubber TPO or other?
