- tommykellyExplorerI don't have an inverter...
I will have to get one
but..I had a 300 watt inverter on my truck camper ..it would supply my small flat screen and my directv receiver...but it would eat that
one 12 volt battery after a few hours...
I am getting my Christmas list for Santa worked up :-) - cgmartineExplorerI'm curious...if you motorhome is not equipped with an inverter, how do you run your tv and dvd while boondocking without running the generator?
- tommykellyExplorerthe 31m does have more features than the smaller 25g
both t.v.'s are 110 a.c. and the dvd in the front and the dvd is
part of the t.v. in the bedroom..all are 110 a.c.
the plug in front t.v. has a lockout too...but can be unplugged and the t.v. can be plugged directly into the wall bypassing the lockout.
but, I am single now and my grandkids are teenagers so all that is not an issue anymore.
the single slideout and the 26 foot length is way more than the truck camper I did have I feel like the guy that just bought a 45 foot bus!!
thanks for the response... - cgmartineExplorerI also have a Tioga, but it is the 31M model. One of the pet peeves on my unit, and hopefully you don't have the same problem, is that the tv operates on 12 volt, while the dvd operates on 110 VAC. Fleetwood, apparently in compliance with the law, wired in lock out relays in both devices. I don't know why Fleetwood did not make both devices 12 volt to begin with. When running solely on house batteries (driving or parked), I can only use the tv. Unless I turn the generator, or use an inverter, I can't use the dvd player. While driving (tv behind the driver), my passengers can't watch tv because the ignition sends a signal to the relay, which cuts off power to the dvd. A second relay somewhere also kills 12 power to the tv. Unless I use an inverter wired to the house batteries, I can't operate the tv and dvd player at the same time. I wanted everything to run on 12 volt, and to operate while under way, or off the grid, while on house batteries, and as a result, I had to get rid of the dvd player and replace it with one that operates on 12 volt. I had to run two 12 volt wires directly to the fuse panel to operate the new dvd player and the tv., thereby bypassing the lock out relays.
- tommykellyExplorerI get blown by the big trucks but not as bad as the truck/camper
no wandering though...I was looking for that..
I enjoy driving it...I did have Sirus radio and stationary Sat. dish
installed when I bought it..
those two items make a long drive to see the grandkids in Kansas when I go later on next year great!!
going from 13 mpg. on diesel to 8.5 on the v10 is the only downside so far....
I sure don't miss the miserable generac propane genny..what a pita!!
the Onan is great!!! plus good service - HarvardExplorerIf your Ford E Series has a tendency to wander (at highway speeds) make sure you bone up on front end alignments, specifically +caster. Search Class C forum for "+caster" for more information.
- tommykellyExplorerthe water drains..now there is a subject:
on the 25G they are located (after removing the grille under fridge)
laying on the floor...nobody knew at the dealer.
thank goodness Fleetwood responds..I would have never found them.
except the tank drain is behind a panel..getting to it is from the right rear access storage door...that was an adventure.
the awning is electric so I will have to check on a locking device
thanks... - BordercollieExplorerFind your hot and cold water low drain valves. They need to be open to drain all old water out of system and fully closed for system to pressurize after refilling. Ours are behind a panel in the outside wall of the rest room, hard to reach and hard to open and close. Install an awning lock device to prevent awning from unfurling while underway and damaging fabric and support arms. Not supposed to happen but it can.

- tommykellyExplorerglad I have two things you mentioned:
the converter has the charge wizard that won't boil the batteries
and charges the chassis battery
and the new type antenna that does not have to be cranked down
it seems to pull stations in better than the old type..
thanks
