So, I purchased a used MH(above) and followup the tech around the unit to learn all above the options and accessories. One thing I mush have missed, We have a built-in Whole house Dirt Devil Vacuum system. The motor and power is located in the basement area just behind the front door and wheel well. But, later I plugged in the unit and the vacuum didn't startup as I had expected. I inserted the hoses into the vacuuming nothing happens. I try the off & on foot paddle and again nothing!! I thought I had checked everything but still n power. There mush be a fuse somewhere but the question is where???

Thanks Doug and everyone else with your suggestions. With your help the problem is solved. Both Floor vacuum and wall are working. Problem I had the unit plugged into standard 110V plug and Doug straitened me out. I again went to the basement to take a closer look and found the second plug, Now we're good. Wife is happy and I can mark another issue off my list.

Plugged in the 110V plug which is in the basement area. The hose has a metal ring that I plug in to start the unit. Nothing happens! My Dirt Devil also has a floor kick plate where supposedly the unit powers up. Doesn't seem to work. Have tried other appliances using the sale plug. All works!!!!

I am starting to think the Dirt Devil itself is "BAD"....

Sorry, Dirt Devils are NEVER BAD. They just had a bad childhood:B You will see where the remote wires are connected to the base unit. Make sure they are connected. Since BOTH the wall outlet and the floor Vacpan have to have the Low voltage power wires and both do not work, the bad connection would be at the Main motor unit. If NOT this and the wires are connected, then the motor is probably bad. If you jump the 2 low voltage wires at the Pump, the unit should run. Doug

On our Ellipse 42QD, the motor is mid-ship in the basement and I find that I consistently bump into the unit as I am storing things. You said that you "plugged it in". Does that mean the 120v power cord? Could the power to the unit became unplugged or does the outlet the Dirt Devil use not power up? Just some random thoughts.

Look at the hose end where you insert into the wall plug. DOES IT have a chrome ring around the end about 2 inches from the end? If NOT you have inserted the wrong end or the Hose kit is not Dirt Devil. The Chrome ring is what completes the power to start the motor. Other brands, when you OPEN the door, the switch starts the motor. Doug

Look at the pic in this link and you will see that chrome ring

You will have a circuit breaker. Take anything (drop light leaf-blower etc) 110V and try the outlet to see if it has power.
