The wires on the jeep may be wrong. What do the lights do?

Wiring color code on the vehicle is not correct. Your going to have to chase each wire to see what is wrong. Easiest way is probably with a test light.

Most auo parts stores sell test light with probes. Trace out each wire then label it. My new MH had the color code completely wrong. Manufactures extend chassis and rewire plugs.

7 way is completely different in color code to a 4 way ROUND and a 4 way FLAT.
7 way color code
BLACK--12 volt hot positive
RED--- LEFT Turn
Brown--RIGHT TURN
GREEN--- Running lights
WHITE--- Negative/Ground
BLUE---Trailer Brake HOT
Yellow-- REVERSE/Extra
4 way Flat
White---Ground
Green---RIGHT Turn
Brown-- Running lights
Yellow-- Left Turn
4 way ROUND---whatever the installer decides--that is why round 4 ways are not the best way to go. Too many variables. Doug

Also note that color codes on socket are mirror view of those on plug.
Since you are redoing whole thing, I would pigtail designated 4-pin socket on motorhome.
Those 7 to 4 adapters are famous for making poor connections.

You fell for a BAD website. That website schematic is WRONG on the 7 way. Doug

ummm, just an observation, but on the 4 way you have 2 Left Turns. for NASCAR maybe:B?

My best guess is the wires were not color coded the same way as the plug.

Using a test light figure out what each of the wires are and connect them per the LT, RT, Tail and Ground labels instead of by color.

The ground (motor home end) is also a major suspect.. Had that problem with my towed.
