AC not working when on generator power

Just purchased a 2012 Winnebago Journey 36M with 16,000 miles. Immaculate and well cared for. When plugged in to shore power the two roof top units work as expected but when asked to cool when on the generator there is no response? I'm open to the possibility that I am not doing something correctly since I have NO experience with this level of coach. Suggestions?

Glad it was an easy fix.

    These are complex devices.

OK, I checked all of the house and chassis circuit breakers but did not look for any breaker "under the hood" near the Genset. I'll do that tonight.

    And the critical question is:
Do you have AC power to anything else when the gen runs ??
If not, the solution probably is simple.

If ONLY the A/C units fail to run, that might be a bit more complicated.

You don't say what type of genset you have but most have circuit breakers on them. Mine has two and have trip several times and had to be reset. If resetting does not help check the transfer switch if you have one.
  • The first time I turned on my generator after servicing it, my charger remote said "Waiting for AC". I had no AC in the coach, only 12 volts. The generator has a circuit breaker on it to supply the load to the coach. I had inadvertently turned it off when I was working on the generator.
