Awaiting the 2017's

I'm just curious how often you find a floorplan cancelled?

My interest is in a Newmar Canyon Star bath and a half like the 3710 and 3953 and the Tiffin Allegro 36LA. As we look for the new models do you take a chance that a floorplan you like will be cancelled?

From another direction. Is it reasonable they could add a new bath and a half with a different living configuration?

This is my first time looking for the new year models and just curious?

Thanks

PS. If you know when the new 2017 floorpalans will be out for Newmar and Tiffin I'd like to know that as well.
  • If you call Tiffin or Newmar, they will tell you what 2017 Floorplans will be made and available. As to changing(customizing) an existing models floorplan, They will not do that on a production line. Doug
  • Here's an interest report on Newmar:

For the past year all sales of Newmars rose 29.65% versus 12.7% industry-wide.

    Newmar's diesel motorhomes rose 39% vs.5.5% industry-wide.

One dealer said the 2017 information will be available mid-May.

Poor-selling models are eliminated. You never know which ones until the new lineup is announced. You might try calling a dealer or Newmar.

You'd make the right choice with Newmar. :)
  • Newmar makes a great Motorhome. But, when you look at those statistics, it does NOT tell what you think it tells. Sales rose. That is great. BUT if Newmar sold 500 motorhomes last year and then sold 700, then the marketing dept would tout that 40 percent increase. Now if Fleetwood sold 10,000 last year and then sold 10,500, that is a 5 percent increase, but still they sold a LOT more. Newmar does NOT have the market share they had just 10 years ago. They are slowly increasing their share every year, but have NOT sold as many as Tiffin/Winne/Fleetwood and Thor. Remember, Marketing will use the numbers and fudge them to make any RV line look like they are selling more versus the competition. Doug
  • For the 2017 Newmar floor plans, go to http://www.newmarcorp.com/dealer-resources/. In the 2017 ORDER FORMS drop down, choose your model. There you'll find the order forms for each floor plan, which show the costs of available options and a drawing of the floor plan.

X-2, and you could also talk directly at the factory to a engineer about floor plans. They can tell you what they can and can't do. I've done this before with Holiday Rambler.
  • If you torture the numbers long enough they will tell you anything you want to hear.

The two you mentioned are there.

Fortunately, quantity is not their business model. They are geared towards quality and limit how many they make a year. Tiffin is similar, but the rest only care about $$$ and not quality.
