On these latches most, if not all of the manfacturers use is really junk and break all the time, and the replacements are the same. Often the cause is how the user slams them shut, but not only always.
MotorHomeLatches.com machines those lousy plastic catches out of metal. You can buy them complete or rebuild kits. I've done both and the kit isn't worth the few $$ saved.
