- OFDPOSExplorerI know no picture/video or it didn't happen :)
Years ago a friend was riding is motorcycle and came up behind a truck loaded down moving furniture, a mattress blew out and he hit it, kinda flipped the bike onto the mattress and he just slid to a stop.
He joked and said that that was the longest he ever slid down the road without getting any road rash..
Luckily he nor the bike got hurt , the truck never stopped... - j-dExplorer II

I saw that happen to a Class C in front of me on I-40 right at the TX-NM border. It's hilly there and I think a headwind added to the road speed of the RV. I wanted to stop and help but we had a baby on board and the consensus was to keep right on going.
A tip I learned here: Put the Awning Rod in the rear groove of the awning roller and bungee it to the arm. The issue is NOT the Arms coming away from the sides of the Coach; It's the Roller coming Un-Locked. Then the slipstream gets under the first roll of the awning and unfurls it like a parachute with a pilot chute. - BordercollieExplorerA few years ago, we had our awning come unfurled and billowed like a sail in heavy winds at 60mph. Luckily it only cost us new fabric installation. I had a $50 awning lock device installed along with the new fabric. When I am following an overloaded truck with sloppy looking tie-downs,I get in another lane ASAP.

- ron_dittmerExplorer IIMany years ago I saw a small boat lift off it's trailer and go sailing in the air like a kite. Fortunately for us, we were on the other side of the interstate highway.
Another time following behind a lumber truck hauling sheets of plywood, the air caught under the top sheet folding it in half, then both 4x4 halves went sailing in the air. The one hit the pavement a split second before we drove over it. - Deb_and_Ed_MExplorer IIThe kayaker in me wonders why ANYONE would have their paddle stashed on the outside of a vehicle, especially if it's a motorhome??? It's not like there wouldn't be room for it inside..... so glad the driver of the paddle-attacked vehicle wasn't hurt!!
- LumptyExplorerAbout 3 years ago I had someone lose a piece of a pipe for a conduit canopy frame in front of me on a crowded urban interstate. Bumpy bridge deck and it came right out the end of the open trailer it was poorly tied onto. Fortunately I was in my daily driver Acura TSX, a very decent handler, and it stayed stuck during the big heave-ho evasive swerve necessary. Despite lots of light flashing and horn honking to the offender afterwards, they were clueless. The piece skittering behind me across the 5 lanes of traffic probably made for some good chaos behind me too.
- StraboExplorerI worry about this everyday, I have hit so much junk on the highway it's like a plague. I had a Subaru once and that car was hit by so many things I thought it was cursed.
