A bit more info from America Technology. This is their reply to my inquiry.

I spoke with the engineer who designed this (AT-RLM-024). He assures me that it is not a current sensing module. It has been replaced with the AT-RLM-044, but it is not a current sensing unit either. If your tech would like to call and speak with one of our techs, he is more than welcome to. He can call 800-238-2687 and just ask for tech services.
