Big rig parks in seatle,wa. Area

You can also stay at an RV park near Poulsbo, and take the Bainbridge Island Ferry to Downtown Seattle. That's where we stayed when DW had a nursing contract at Harborview Hospital many years ago.
We looked at the park East of Seattle on I-90 at the time, but we had too many pets with us, and they wouldn't let us stay there.

If you are in Seattle for the day, both of the stadiums have huge parking lots that are free when there is no game, I'd not try it today.

Another option is staying on the Olympic Peninsula around Port Townsend/Sequim and taking a fast ferry into Seattle for sightseeing occasionally. The ferry drops you off on the Seattle waterfront at Pikes Market/Aquarium area. Lots to do on the Peninsula.

The ferry thet "flyswatter mentioned is actually from Mukilteo (west of Everett) across to Clinton (at the southern tip of Whidbey Island) from where it's about a 45-minute drive north to Anacortes.

There's a campground on the outskirts of Anacortes that is specifically designed for big rigs. It's called "Fidalgo Bay RV Resort" and has 142 sites, according to their Yellow Pages ad. It's owned and operated by the Samish Indian Nation and is very popular (often full). Their web-site is www.fidalgobay.com.

We actually live in Anacortes. We moved here in 1999 after I retired from Boeing. We're about 3/4 of a mile from the State Ferry Terminal, so we've never stayed at Fidalgo Bay Resort. The resort is rather flat and the sites are fairly closely spaced, but it's on the water's edge and has a walking/biking trail at the landward side that goes all the way into downtown.

Anacortes is a good base for seeing the northern parts of western WA, but it's close to 90 miles from the city of Seattle and about the same to Vancouver BC. It is the "Gateway to the San Juan Islands" (it's actually on the only one of them you can drive to) and this part of the state is the most scenic.

I agree, it's nice place to stay and not too far north of Seattle.

There is no Ferry from Everett to Anacortes ( we live here) I-5 will get you there in about 1.5 hours.

Most all the Indians Casinos have a RV parking with hook ups, the best of the bunch is Angle of the Winds just off I-5 at exit 210 north of the city.

A couple years ago I stayed at Lake Pleasant RV Park. I thought it was a nice park. I made the drive to downtown Seattle a few times from there..........I can't remember the exact distance or travel time, but I'm thinking it was around 30 minutes or so.

I am currently camping at the KOA in Kent south or Seattle, great location several 40ft plus rigs - 42 ft fifth wheel came in yesterday, I have stayed here 4 times in the past year.

The KOA is 20 miles from downtown not 40

The only place actually in Seattle is a n Elks Lodge. Six large sights, but you have to be an Elk. Before becoming an Elk, we stayed at the KOA that is about 40 south of Seattle. There was another park eat of Seattle that we stayed at many years ago. It's still there, but it's just a parking lot with lines.
