Bose Lifestyle 50 Upgrade??

Auestion for you AV techies:

We have a Bose Lifestyle 50 sound system in the living area (Lifestye 30 in Bedroom) that uses a powered Accostimass speaker and the P1 multi-zone controller. The system works great with the exception of this older tech does not allow volume control with our Dish remote. There is now way I've been able to pair the Bose to the Dish remote.

So, my question is: Can I upgrade to something newer that would allow me to use a single remote while still using the Base speaker system?

Thanks for any insight.

Harmony remote works fine with Bose RF. Mine does.

Which Bose system do you have??

    Bose Home Theater System LS-30

Well, if it works with LS 30 it should have a good chance or working with LS-50....at least with the one zone I'm interested in controlling.

Which remote are you using, I see only a couple have both IR (TV) and RF (Bose) capability?
I don't know which model I have. It is on the coach and I am not there. I believe you will need an IR blaster in line of sight to your IR devices.

  • Harmony 650 is $69 at best buy. I have one for my house and wouldn't trade it for anything!

  • The BOSE Lifestyle systems us a radio frequency (RF) remote system...not an infrared system (IR) like most every other remote. There is no way to pair them to work on one remote. Sorry
  • The Harmony remote it GREAT! It allows you to create a custom setup using your PC. If you have Sams Club membership they have a great price on the 650 model.

Much less expensive more flexable to buy a Harmony Programmable remote.

Thanks, didn't think of that. So that remote will pair and work with the old Bose analog RF system remote brain?
