Boys and Grils - A Change of Seasons

For the first time in 40 years we do not have a Motor Home Setting beside the house waiting for us to finish loading and heading out. We started in 1978 with a 1972 18 ft. Brave, then a 1975 24 Ft. Sightseer, then a 1979 21 Ft Brave the a 1986 34 Ft. Cruise Air II, then a 1999 36 Ft. Santara and last but not least a 2002 36 FT. DSDP. We got we thought was a good price and they got a hell of a deal on a great Motor Home.

I"ll be a lurker here from time to time to add my two cents worth to the conversation.

We will adjust - we always do.

    Brett, Good to hear from you. We provided the new owners our Charter Members Jackets for the Cat RV Club. We explained that they were heirloom collectables and were a rare commodity. We encourage them to join the Diesel RV Club and wear the jackets to show off their status.

    Glad you had fun with it! Life adventures don't have to stop even if you stop RV'ing! :)

    Dutch 12078 you are correct that it had nothing to do with the decision. It was just the time to stop that part of our lives. We also found a place to stay that fit the budget and fuel is one of the smallest cost of RVing. We always said it was a lifestyle and what a lifestyle is was for us.

When gas was $4.00+ 10 years ago, all many of us did was travel less and stay longer in one place to mitigate the cost. A $1.00/gallon increase only adds $125 to a 1,000 mile trip at 8 MPG. Certainly not enough to run me off the road. And park availability isn't that big an issue if you plan far enough ahead for longer stays and are flexible enough in your plans for shorter stops.

    Sorry to see you're hanging up the keys, Wally, but it looks like you've got a lot of great memories to look back on. My best wishes as you transition into this next phase of your life!
