Welcome to the Forum and a future member of the Former Rental Owners Club.
There may be a way to have access to the storage area thru the night stand,as
One member did for a laundry chute,it is something to check out.
There may be another place to use,under the couch by opening it up as
STEVE-OTR did to store shoes,it may have room for the litterboxes.
Just some suggestions to look at.
