- mowermechExplorerThat's OK, I have no plans to ever go to CA again. By 2024 I will probably not be able to drive that far anyway!
- rk911Explorerwe HAVE to go to CA shortly to clean out my BIL's condo and settle his estate followimg his recent death. beyond that we have zero interest in CA or how unfriendly they are to visitors.

X2!!! - LwiddisExplorer IIAir quality is important to most Californians. Testing diesels in our state for emissions isn’t a game or frivolous. I remember not being allowed to go outside to play in the 50s and early 60s and I don’t want to return to those bad air times.
- valhalla360NavigatorProbably won't hold up as that falls under interstate commerce which is clearly delineated as Federal Jurisdiction. As long as you meet your home state's rules, they can't prohibit you.
Local Californians...not so much.
On top of that, you have the practicality or trying to manage it. Are they really going to stop every out of state vehicle entering the state. - Matt_ColieExplorer IIVahalla360,
You have obviously not watched as California has ignored numerous federal statures over the recent years. This is standard practice there and they work it up to the constitutional level.
Matt - A good running RV will pass without issue.
- LwiddisExplorer IIIt’s not an interstate commerce issue for heaven’s sake! No nexus between sellIng/transporting goods and MH diesel emissions. Closer to a freedom to travel claim but still not within the square. Congress has long allowed California to set its own, more strict, air quality standards. And who regulates interstate commerce? Congress.
- azdryheatExplorerAnd not just Class A's. Lot's of C's with Mercedes Diesel engines. Don't know if they are over 14,000 pounds, though.

very true and we all have a vested interest in making sure our vehicles are in top running condition. but that's really not the point, is it? if every state started throwing up these sorts of "rules" interstate commerce would grind to a halt. what's next...no gas/diesel powered vehicles allowed? what's your business in our state? and in our increasingly partisan world it's not a stretch to imagine...papers...papers, please.
we have no desire to go to CA for anything but as I wrote we have to. my BIL passed last week and we're his only immediate family. so we'll be going to clean out and put his condo up for sale and to close out his other affairs. but we want to get in, get it done and scram. CA in it's present condition has nothing to offer us.
