Campground in Amish Of Ohio

Evergreen is nice but also expensive there are several for less. Unless you need what Evergreen has I submit you try Scenic Hills RV Park, good people and clean park we have been there close to Berlin. Troyers is not far nor are the Cheese Factories. Remember nothing is open on Sunday that is Amish. We live in Ohio go to Amish lands often if you have further questions.

FIY Ohio has more Amish than Pennsylvania or Indiana with Holmes county having the largest concentration. I agree sadly that there are stores advertising Amish goods that are full of tourist stuff. But if you look around and ask you can find real stuff.

I also forgot to mention Winesburg Meats. Not Amish or Mennonite but a really fine butcher shop with local farm raised meats, smoked pork chops hand made sausages etc.

Whereas, Indiana actually has RV related things like the RV Hall of Fame, Factory Tours galore and plenty of Amish restaurants, furniture stores and campgrounds with FHUs.

As a rule of thumb, TRUE Amish stores will not advertise "Amish" or have anything to do with Amish in the title. Look for bible verses on store fronts and also don't be afraid of farm roads as many will have home based businesses.

Look in local papers near Millersburg OH. There are MANY Amish/Mennonites that have Bed/Breakfast operations running. It's not exactly a CG, but I highly suggest going to some of these.... We've had awesome experiences.

EDIT - My DW just reminded me some of these folks have RV parking at their homes. :)

We were at Scenic Hills last October. A good spot to park to see the area.

We stayed at Evergreen last fall and really liked it. As for the Amish experience I agree that you need to get off the beaten track, but why not full hookups? I don't want to live the lifestyle, just purchase good food and beautiful furniture.

What about Whispering Hills?

And while you are there by all means drive 30 minutes to Dover and visit The Warther Museum. Nothing to do with th Amish but an amazing collection of carvings. And buy the cook a knife or two.

Check out Baylor Beach in Navarre, OH. One of the cleanest campgrounds I've stayed in. Not all sites are full hook up.
