catalytic converter 97 winni brave chevy 454 engine

In most cases the emmision control system is covered under warranty for 100 thousand miles by law. Not sure how many miles are on your coach but worth a shot.

Check to see if your vehicle had a recall or tsb or something like that for the cc. I had my 1997 Dodge (class B) cc replaced for free by the dealer & I am not the original owner. I forget the details about this, but it's worth checking into.

The last I heard is that was the law. Last summer took a Cat over to CA for a relative, he had a friend install it. Voila it passed emissions. :b

In California,
you must replace the Catalytic converter with one tested for the application (OEM), Were you to drive to Nevada, have them install the universal unit, you would be good to go.

California shops must follow the law.

Call the chevy dealer and ask him his price. It is likely pricey but I doubt 2500.

I would go to a shop that would put in an aftermarket unit.

I would definitely go with the generic catalytic converter. Should be plenty of room under the RV for fitment. I'd probably opt for a couple of 3" in/out high flow units from Summit or Jegs. These engines respond pretty well to a freer flowing exhaust.

$2800 is insanity for a catalytic converter.

When you get OE from the manufacturer you pay their price. When you get a generic, after market they are priced competitively.
