Class C Motorhomes of New Zealand

For a smallish country plenty of variety

  • it looks like they hire interior designers instead of just picking some random shopper at Walmart.
  • Those are very interesting and very attractive. It looked to me that there three different chassis shown. Thank you for the post.

About 5 years ago we went to North Island to the New Plymouth, Inglewood areas. The purpose was to attend a wedding and because we entertain so many branches of our friends family here, they all wanted to entertain us while we were there. In order to keep as many visitors and the men of our extended family out from underfoot in the morning of the rehearsal dinner, the groom had scheduled a morning on the water fishing. Above the marina was a campground with a very wide variety of RVs mostly Caravans(TTs). A very few A's and C's, mostly from Europe.

The surprising thing to me at least is the size of these new rigs. Over the last thirty years of our travels down there, their camping modes have changed a lot. In the 1980's, it was mostly tents and a smattering of Caravans. Typically the caravans were light in weight, no slides and had huge windows. The newer ones seem to be more like the ones produced here.

The one dealership I got to visit on our last trip had mostly rigs made by the big German Manufacturer. The reasons why are like European rigs, they are lighter and more fuel efficient and they drive on the wrong side of the road. While the old rigs were Spartan, these are not. LED lights, and very stylish form and function, full wall slides, LED TVs, stove tops with ovens and fridges.

Really cool, I wish I could fly back for the wedding of one of our friends grand kid and tour the dealerships. Thanks for the post Robert.

Very similar to our Motorhomes, but their Caravans are behind the times. More emphasis on Motorhomes than Caravans

Very similar to Australia in interior design. more like our Caravan interiors Chassis's built on are almost identical..They build on Mercedes, IVECO, VW Crafter and Isuzu/Mitsubishi Medium Trucks that would be termed light trucks to us
    An Australian Sunliner

    Australian AVIDA

Australian Paradise Motohome on an IVECO Daily

AVIDA Caravan interior similar to Motorhome
