I'm finally putting new tires on my MH and I used one of those "Tires by Mail" places to order them. (They were cheaper even with shipping!) Now, the question is how to dispose of the old tires. I understand that I can sell the old tires for a "Core Value". Where can I sell them? Who does this kind of business?The tires are GoodYear G670 RV tires, 275/70R22.5 with a build date of Feb 2008. That's 90 months old, 7½ Years old. The question seems to be, can they be recapped for commercial tires?Any thoughts? Any Ideas?Thanks,Dick

Core value also depends on the age and condition of the tire. When I bought my new tires even though they had plenty of good tread the dealer junked them!

I put mine on craigslist and sold them the next day for $100/ea.

Thanks for the response. The tires are due to arrive on Monday the 27th and as soon as I get them on, it's on to Craig's List.
By the way, the company was Simple Tire. Ask for John; did a good job for me. But make sure you price all the options: Tires + shipping + install + balance. Some companies bundle it all together and some sell just tires.

and you have to watch out for that scam-----they charge you a disposal fee and then sell them for $100+ each as soon as you are out of sight.

while my new tires were being installed a trucker walked up and offered $100.00 each for my old ones . very pleasant surprise as i thought i was going to pay to have them taken off my hands.

CL worked well for me. Took 17 hours to sell 6ea 275/70/22.5 G670 date code 0205 for $600 last year.

I sold my 6 the same size as yours for $125 each. I was told they used them for those tag axels on dump trucks around here.

I trade mine at around 50,000 miles which is usually close to 3-4 years old. Usually I get anywhere from $100-$150 each as trade in value.

Craig's list is you best bet since the prospective buyer will be local and can pick up rather than pay shipping. Used 22.5 tires with low miles will fit a lot of commercial trucks from dump trucks to the regional haulers and I would expect them to go quickly if priced right. Start at $100 each and if you don't get calls drop the price until they are gone then go camping with the extra funds.
