Couch out the door

I have had a full flexsteel couch and a folding couch out the entry door as well. They both came apart and to make it easier I unbolted the passenger seat and it worked great. Same thing for bringing in the new ones. They just need to come apart.

Loveseat sleeper bed when out and dual recliner went in. Back came off the loveseat and I also took the frame for the bed out to lighten it up. The dual reclined also had removable backs and fit thru the 22" door to my coach. Easy swap.

We had our couch reupholstered about a year ago, and it came out the front door to go to the upholstery shop. Yes, had to be taken apart, then brought back in piece by piece and reassembled inside. Once disassembled, it came out the door easily. Only hard part was figuring out how it all went back together afterward. Came out great, though.

I removed my foldout couch, one person job, it disassembles very easily After 6 year the pleather fabric had completely crumbled. I found a house recliner that swiveled to replace it. Used two 1by6 oak boards to adapt the couch hold down to the recliner as it was mounted on the slideout. Completed job is several times stronger than the original couch.

We just did the same thing in our 03 Gulfstream DP. The only difference is we aren't putting the sofa back in. We had to take the back off the sofa to get it to fit. On ours there were 4 bolts that held it together. Took them off and went right through the doorway with about 2 inches to spare. I did take the passenger captain seat out so we didn't have to raise the sofa up. The recliners are awesome.

My coach was a fold out bed. With the unit opened up it went right out the door. Worst case I think I could have removed the passenger seat and gotten out the door as well. If you can't get it out then there are likely parts that can be disassembled to get it out the door.

The backs of the recliners should be held on by two twist knobs.

Unscrew the jack knife part from the arms, the arms from the floor and it all goes out the door. Just did this yesterday.

Now, getting full size recliners in the door - that's another problem.

On my Flexsteel furniture, the arms would unbolt and the back would come off.

We removed an unwanted jackknife sofa from our previous coach through the door just by opening it up flat first.
