cracked caulkng

It sounds like they used the wrong caulk, cheap caulk or got a batch of bad caulk.

I don't know why they (all manufacturers) don't use Eternabond in the factory to eliminate much of the caulking.

That was the excuse for the recall, (bad batch) but only for the roof seam. Winnebago customer service is the worst. I asked a question 3 weeks ago with no response. Asked several times since and finally sent one more stating I was getting my answers from RV.Net. They answered in one day.

That customer service is a joke = with your attitude I can imagine working with you would not be pleasant if you jumped on them like you jumped on me

LOL, Last time on the phone it took 35 minutes to get through and no answer. At least Fleetwood offered a call back. I worked tech support in the aircraft industry and HAD to have an answer in minutes, aircraft that don't fly don't make money. I only jumped on you because of your answer and not knowing all the facts.!!

I was shopping for caulk for a non RV project and had to laugh at the labels. 35 year caulk one said. Yeah right. If this is close to truthful why not use it on RV applications?

you can do it yourself, just understand what product to use. for the roof it is a special 'sealant'

dicor has a good self leveling product

Was eternabond tape used on front and back caps? Seems like that is where the flexing occurs. My 2013 Monaco had several cracks front and rear caps. I used sticknbond tape. Same manufacture. Seems to be holding up. When it comes to roof leaks I prefer to inspect it my self. I use self leveling Dicor. I clean with mineral spirits first. You shouldn't have to scrape anything off at this point unless it is loose. Winnebago is trying to stay competitive and they build cheap like every one else. Surprised that it was a recall unless they have leak problems costing them money on warranty.

The tape was put on where the roof meets the side walls. the whole length on both sides. They claimed a bad batch. Now other seams are cracking
