Cruse control not working

Our cruse control on our 2004 Four Winds Class A quit on us and the guy here that works on RV's says it can not be fixed and that we had to get an after market one. The motorhome is on a Ford frame with the V-10 power train. It is hard to believe this can not be fixed. He thought it might be on the breaks, then he had the steering wheel off and then I was told that I would have to buy an after market cruse control. Anyone have any ideas? I have to have my cruse control.

    No, never took to Ford dealer yet. The guy that checked it our works on RV's for RV Dealers here.

    I think K charles means if it's man made it is subject to failure, not fixable.

    I'm not sure of your rig or not but, you may need to check on a recall for Ford cruise control issues.
