Curb Side Awning - Over Slide

We have a Kitchen slide on the curb-side (camp-side) and our camp awning doesn't have much 'real estate' due to that kitchen slide. While camping I saw another (newer) motor home that had a unique awning over a slide on the camp side. It seemed to extend out a couple feet before dropping out for shade thus regaining the much desired shade despite the slide. I hope my description is good enough but if anyone can direct me to this type of awning I'd like to explore the idea of replacing mine with one.
  • Also, Carefree makes the Paramount which is the same design as the Girrard. AND, Cheaper than the Girrard. While they are OEM only, you could probably purchase one from a OEM. Also, the type MOUNT that both Girrard and Carefree require, will not make installing one aftermarket an easy thing to do. They are 120 volt and you will have to run 120 wiring and other wiring to the roof and then mount the mount hardware to the roof. Hopefully your roof will have adequate aluminum steel to hold the mount hardware. Most Motorhomes will NOT have the adequate sub structure for a safe mount. They also weigh about 250 lbs. Think about that weight. It takes 4 of us with a Forklift to remove and replace one of these awnings, due to the weight and bulk. Doug
