Diesel in Cortez Colorado

This summer I will be going to Moab Utah. Know where I can get in for diesel at all my other stops except Cortez, Colorado and on to Moab. I will be traveling from Cortez on 491 to Monticello Utah and from there on 191 on to Moab. I have a 40 ft. motorhome (actual length 41 ft. 3 in.) and will be towing a Honda. Would appreciate any helpful information on best places to stop to get diesel.

I have used Dove Creek several times. It is a farming community and easy access to the pumps. Price is usually competitive for the area.

I am leaving for Moab in 2 weeks, it's a great place.

I'm currently in Cortez, CO. We drove past the Ute Casino today and they do have a Mobile gas station just south of the casino on 491. The gas pumps appear to have ample room for big rigs and there are also diesel pumps for large diesel trucks.

Safe travels. JD

If you have a cell phone you should get "GasBuddy.com" Gives you all the gas/diesel stations and prices. locations, etc. in your surrounding area as well as any place in the U.S. or Canada. It is a free App. Another App you should check out is iExit. Lars

If you are traveling north to Cortez on 491, you can stop at the Ute Mountain Ute Casino's Truck stop (the diesel pumps are on the south side of the truck stop facility), on the west side of 160/491 about 15 miles south of Cortez. Closer to town, there are several stations that would accommodate you, including one on the NW corner of the 160/491 N junction at the east end of downtown Cortez. (You can access 491 N out of Cortez from both ends of town.) Monticello has several good options, as does Dove Creek, which is about halfway to Monticello on 491 N from Cortez.
