Do you like your jacknife sofa?

I am thinking of putting a Belmont jacknife sofa from shop4seats in my coach. The kids refuse to sleep on the air mattress on my fold-out sofa. I would like to hear from someone who has one on whether you would recommend it.

a J couch is only one step down from a jack knife sofa. you can comfortably sit on the 1/2 that is not Jed, but that wide J spot is a joke. but they look good and are great eye candy to attract potential buyers.

Ours is comfortable for one person. I sleep on it on occasion, but am only 5"10".

It also sits comfortably with arms at each end.

It is neither a Flexsteel or from you target store, so I think it is difficult to get opinions on the Jackknife concept.

I would be concerned with buying furniture I have not butt tested beforehand.

If your limited on space and want a sleeper bed there is not much choice. A jackknife or easy bed I think are the only two options. They intrude into the living space about 48 inches.

I guess it depends on who made it and how good of a job they did right?

none of mine have ever laid down to a flat area. there is always a gully in the middle, and between "cushions", welting, etc. disturbs the surface, and since they have to be stiff enough to sit on, they are not comfy to lay on. as I said, a Magic Sofa Bed from Bradd and Hall is the answer. it ends up with a smooth/flat/surface to sleep on.
don't fall for the ones that "well if we put an air mattress on it, or if we put some plywood on it, etc."

We have a jackknife...no idea who made it but it's comfy to lounge on and perfect for the overnight guest you don't want to come back.

All of the above makes me like having it.

I count 3 positives, 4 neutrals and 3 negative comments so far. Sounds like investing in one is a shot in the dark. I wish I knew how the Flexsteel compares with the one from shop4seats but I haven't found either to put my hands on yet.

One of the things I like about the Belmont is that the armrests are removable so that someone laying down while traveling can use the full length or even hang feet off the end to straighten out. Since the sofa is only 68" long that could be useful. The feet would hang into the stairwell so they would not be in the way most of the time.

Thanks for the opinions so far.

If there were only two of us I would switch it out in a heartbeat. But there is three of us and we all need to sit there.

Don't have one and never did - but when we replaced our hide-a-bed with dual recliners, the RV furniture place said that replacing jack-knife sofas was the most common furniture upgrade they did. They said people hated them.

Our grand kids sleep on ours. They have no complaints.
And, it's easy to use.

Did not like it at all. Took it out and put in two recliners in its place
