Drive Thru miscalculation

And so many keep arguing that we keep the NO TESTING REQUIRED to drive big MH's.

Well, this is one exception. I would NEVER, EVER find myself in this predicament.
I avoid drive-through services even if I'm in my daily driver. Second of all, my disconnect procedure is pretty snappy, and I'm not opposed to disconnecting,....if I were to find myself in need of doing it.

In the subject case, I would simply/quickly disconnect and drive the MH to the parking lot,.... run back and drive the toad out of there.

For myself, in the 8 years that we have been RVing, I've had to unhook 4 times. It hasn't happened in about 4 yrs. but there is always tomorrow. :R

I am not sure what every body is commenting on (unless there is something I am missing when looking at the picture). From what I can see looks ok to me.

Yikes!

I think it is mentality.
I observe that taking car to malls.
I made a policy that on crowded parking I take the first available spot even when it is far away from the door.
Others think they can get 50' closer to the door and cruise the parking lot of several minutes only to get the far away spot afterall.

Agree. While I never, ever take my rig into drive thrus and the like, I don't see anything in that photo that indicates there is even a problem. The towed MIGHT bounce over the curb, but there sure appears to be some clearance between it and the concrete support to the light pole. For all we know it is clear sailing straight ahead for the motorhome. When I went to this thread, I though I was going to see a fine 12 foot tall motorhome wedged into an 11 foot tall overhang. Like Sargent Schultz, "I See Nothing" disconcerting here.

I was thinking the same thing. Or better yet, you're in a rolling HOUSE for gawd's sake. Park, walk back and make a sammich.

..Reminds me of many, many years ago, when we used to camp with a Dodge Durango and popup trailer. One time when DW was driving, she insisted she could make it through a McDonald's drive-thru. I told her she'd regret it, probably should have stopped her. But, I decided to let her learn the hard way (and hope she didn't tear anything up!)

Anyway, soon as she came around the turn after placing our order, she quickly realized why this was not a good idea, haha. Couldn't quite make the turn without dragging the side of the popup against a wall (she hadn't learned yet to swing wiiiiide in those situations). Fortunately, she stopped and realized it was hopeless (before any damage was done). After several iterations of backing up, re-positioning, and creating quite the show for any on-lookers....Finally, she got it lined up and on through the drive-through without a problem. I remember the employees there having a good laugh about it, too. :)

Neither of us ever tried that again. With the 36' class A we have now, I rarely even try to go into a PARKING LOT of any fast food joint, let alone their drive-thru! Fortunately, don't need to anymore, since we have all the food we need right there in the MH with us. :)

Good thing it wasn't at a Dunkin Donuts. People would have lost their $h!t if they had to get out of line for their coffee.
