Driving in below freezing weather

Starting in Missouri you will have no prolems. Your MotorAid will keep things warm. If you are paranoid, start the trip without water.

We start in North Dakota and don't put on water until we reach above freezing temeperatures. We use RV antifreeze to flush the toilet and carry drinking water in jugs.

Well I'm doing fine at lows of -31 c (-24 f). The latest acquisition (magic carpet) is doing a tremendous job of keeping the floor warm.

In my Class C, while driving the cab heating does not allow the furnace to cut in. That is why I suggested making sure the thermostat is set fairly high. I've done an end run around this by adding twin window fans that force warm cabin air through the duct work of the furnace--but it may not be worth doing for a "one off" trip.

All depends on the individual coach design. My front furnace provides heat for the fresh water tank. My rear furnace provides heat for the black and grey tanks.

I'm going to Texas in two weeks. Planning on going pretty much south first and then west, instead of going cross country. And temperature wise, the February weather is not looking the best for most all of Texas. Arizona looks better!

I may be wrong, but I think OP is asking if he uses the furnace "while they are driving" will the lines all be okay.

Buy a remote thermometer, available at Radio Shack for $20 or so. Place the outside transmitter in the basement near the water closet. You will be able to monitor the temperature in the bay at anytime. You may be surprised how warm it stays or get a warning as to heat needed. I've survived 0 degrees F. without issues and I have no heated tanks.

Your furnace will do it with vents into the wet bays. Put some antifreeze in waste tanks.

When we had our 30' 94 Southwind, we traveled from Seattle to NW Oklahoma, and back, staying there in Oklahoma for a week at Christmas. It was -10 and high wind while down there. Felt like needles going through ya when you wend out. The motorhome had a heated basement, but I did add an extra space heater with a thermostat inside the utilities area to keep things above freezing. All pipes were fine. The people we stayed with on the Ranch had rooms for us inside, but the cats stayed in the RV. We kept the heat on of course, nice and toasty. The ranch was 40 miles from the nearest town, so they ran all their trucks, and home heating on Propane, as well as a wood stove. They had 3 monster propane tanks that we were able to refill our tank in the RV from. Kept things nice inside.
Traveling we used the dash heat and the furnace. Usually drove straight through with multiple drivers. However one year on the way back to Seattle after Christmas, at 2 AM, in Northern Colorado, there was heavy fog, and 19 degrees. Couldn't keep the windshield defrosted. Pulled over to scrape it. The ice on the road was clear and thick. All the trucks were still doing 60-65 mph. Crazy. Decided to pull off for the night. No rest areas open, all closed for the season. Found a convenience store and spent the night there till things thawed a little. Never spun a wheel ever, but decided to play it safe that trip. We had a ball as we always do. Good memories.

We travel with our heaters on and have had no problems with the tanks or lines freezing. We travel with three quarters fresh water.
