Engine won't start

Yup , bad starter the dealear replaced it. Works good so far.

The battery is charged.
It worked yesterday after I cleaned the cables.
This morning it is back to just a click . Yes everything lights up.

V10 has about 6 solenoids. One is attached to the starter as one unit the others are placed all over under the hood.

I experienced the same as you did. It was the solenoid mounted on the fender wall. :R

I had mobile repair out and he knew right away what the problem was. I turned the key as he checked out each solenoid until we found the one that wasn't working. Inexpensive part.

Just pray it is not the one attached to the starter because you have to buy the complete starter assembly for that one.

What happened to the good old days when vehicles had ONE starter solenoid. :B

When you turn the key to start do all your dash lights come on or is it totally dead?

Do you hear any clicking?

I agree with midnightsadie...put a charger on your engine starting battery and see how long it takes to charge.

I don't think I fixed the original problem . It did start after cleaning the terminals and cables.
They are coming out to look at it. I'm glad about that.

Give the starter a couple of firm strikes with a dead blow hammer or rubber mallet. If the starter now works order a replacement before if dies completely. Lot a heat in the area from the exhaust that can degrade a starter over time. I suspect this is what the dealer did to get you off the lot.

If it doesn't work after a couple of tries measure the volts at the battery post and then on the terminals checking for a difference. If you get a difference clean the terminals. Also check the heavy terminal on the starter and the engine block ground cable. You want the same volts as at the battery terminals.

If everything checks out then there's a problem with the start circuit that is a little more difficult to troubleshoot via a forum thread.

Make sure your jacks are fully retracted. On ours, the engine will not start until the jacks are fully seated in the travel position.

Will do. but I thought that the emergeny start feature would start it even if they were dirty.

Clean the + and - connections on the chassis battery and connecting cables are clean. install and tighten the cables then see if that will do it.
