Extended Warranty Choices???

extended warranty choices, all bad choices.

I am one that purchased an extended warrantee and it has more than paid for itself. They also have not given me any problems when they were called to get approval for a repair. I am going to purchase another one when this one is over. You can easily purchase one for an 8 year old coach. The one that looks the best for me so far is the one offered through FMCA.

You might try coach-net they offer an extended warranty.

The normal "buy an extended warranty or not" argument has been beat to death and you'll find many threads on it.

Your question is a bit different since it's for an 8 year old coach. I suspect any warranty you'd find that would be willing to cover that coach, the premiums will be absolutely outrageous. Also, be REALLY careful of the aftermarket warranties and all the exclusions. Warranty companies are famous for excluding parts of components so they basically never have to pay.

On a coach of that age I'm basically with the majority thus far. Save the money and be your own warranty company.

I have not found an extended warranty that really worth the money. The 2 that I've had, when something went wrong it either was not covered or I didn't have it serviced at the exact mileage, or the repair place was charging too much for the item, or I didn't have the proper receipt showing I had it serviced.
So no more buying extend warranties.

take the $ you are planning to use for the extended warranty (really an insurance policy with LOTS of exclusions and gotchas) and start a maintenance/repair fund. add $X per month to that fund so that it equals your best guesstimate of the annual maintenance costs. example: how often does the oil need to be changed. based on your anticipated miles in a year lets pretend it's 4-times @$150 per change or $600 annually then do the same thing with all of the chassis mfgs recommended maintenance. add in extra $ for unscheduled repairs or maintenance and so on. then use that fund solely for maintenance and repairs. complaints about extended warranties are rampant. we started a M&R fund 30-years ago seeding it with the $ we were going to spend on an extended warranty. we're way ahead with that. btw, I do very little of my own maintenance.

before you buy this MH I'd take it to a certified mechanic for the chassis mfg and have the engine/drive train thoroughly examined. and then have a certified RV mechanic check the coach functions as best as possible. be sure of what you're buying.
