Firestone Tire Recalls

I am severely prejudiced against Firestone for the following reason:

Early on they produced the "Firestone Steel Belt Radial" tires. Consumer Reports tried to test them agains other brands but could not rate them because they could not keep them on the cars due to their self-destruction.

Then eventually the Federal got into it and told Firestone to not ever sell those tires again, to which they agreed.

However they still continued to procuce the same exact tires under house brands rather than the Firestone brand.

The Federal gummint is equally at fault because they never prosecuted the officers of Firestone for this aggrevous crime. Only the stockholders paid the fines. Those officers should have been prosecuted and potentially jailed. IMHO.

The recall is for Trailer tires. No RV'r should be using those on a Motorhome!!!

According to Firestone the fs561 is a all position tire and recommended for steer tire application.

Moisheh, regardless of what the news idiots say, these are NOT trailer tires per se. The Firestone FS561 is an all position tire designed as a steer application. They are 12ply 10R22.5 tires. The news clowns never do their homework before throwing articles out there...:S....Dennis

The recall is for FS561 heavy truck tires. NOT to be used for trailers. Firestone says they are NOT designed for trailer use

Easy mistake. First they said heavy truck and the said trailer as well. Don't ya just love the media?
