I had the same awning installed at camping world what a mess Brand new out-of-the-box it did the same thing they thought the arms were bent they change them and here it was just a bumper assist that I had to figure out They also didn’t know nothing about the kit or how to even install it I did buy it after medic for $50 and it does work It’s a shame they should just install it when it’s new are ready Should come with the awning
