Flo jet macerater pump won't fit sewer line output

I assumed sewer lines were universal.I tried to use my flo jet on my new used class A and it won't fit.The new output fitting is approximately4.5". The flow jet is around 3.75". Tried to buy a new fitting at Walmart. That doesn't fit either. Are there adapters? I was thinking maybe buying a hose extension to see if that would work. The previous owner added a 3d valve and section of pipe in case one of the original grey or black valves failed. Wonder if he changed the original diameter.
  • Sounds like previous owner used Thetford valves/parts when they installed that 'extra' drain valve.

    Valterra OEM & Aftermarket valves & fittings are 1.5". 2" or 3"

    ABS Piping/Fittings
3" (nominal) have an OD of 3.5"
3.5" (nominal) have an OD of 4"

    No 3.75"

So that 'adapter' should mate up.
Good thing for New Old Stock.......Valterra discontinued that adapter
  • Think I got my answer. Valterra T05-2285VP Thetford to Valterra Universal Adapter Model: T05-2285VP. Hopefully it'll be the answer.
  • The macerater is made to go on a 3.5" line and mine is 3.75". Looking at PPl the only measurements listed on the adapters are the length. They're mostly clear extensions with clean out valves. I'll have to wait till Monday and take the flo jet to a local RV parts place and see if they have an answer.
  • I assume you're talking about the end piece that fits into the sewer opening. If that's the case, use a rubber donut.....Dennis

There are two sizes and 3 types of adapters now in use on RV's.. As I recall it was Valterra who used the other size, and who also makes the other type (it is completly different)

Yes there are adapters but .. I have no clue where to find them or if they will solve your problem.. I do not think I've ever seen a 4.5" outlet.. But then I've never seen the Valterra outlets.
