From diesel to gas.

Still being employed full time and having a limited amount of vacation days is why the rush.

A friend of mine once said "I can buy more fuel, I cannot buy more time".

Having said that I'm getting old, and I now find myself driving slower than I used to. :B We'll get there when we get there, no point in stressing about it.

Wrong post :(. Anyways I always get a kick at all the people speeding I happily drive the speed limit while towing. If I want to get there earlier i simply plan and leave early

Yep, I heard the same thing when I bought my first airplane. I heard it when I raced motorcycles and cars. Heard it when I sky dived and as I did lots of dangerous things. Now, many many years later, I have lived a full life, with great-grandchildren, and according to my recent flight physical, I am in good health and determined to experience all that life has to offer. I know that life does not offer much sitting behind the wheel of an RV.
I realize it is always the other guys that are the dangerous ones when they are driving the speed limit and pass you as you camp out on the interstate. Since I said I travel at the posted speed limit, and you feel that is too fast for you maybe you need to examine whether you belong behind the wheel of a large vehicle. I am tested regularly, are you?

No, they would be a FRED or front engine diesel. Many were made and may still be being made, especially toy hauler Class A coaches.

We had a 32' Fleetwood Terra gasser with the 8.1 Chevy. It had a ton of power and handled well. I added extra insulation to the doghouse which made it reasonably quiet. I dumped the coach because of the brake issues on the Workhorse and the toilet had a funky offset tank that always plugged.

We went to a 36' DP with a 400 ISL that was a rocket. We kept it for nine years. I loved the power of that coach. Our current coach is 5K heavier, taller and dragging a tag. It's got the torque, but isn't a rocket like my previous coach. With all that said regarding power, I think the DP handling in adverse conditions is a biggee that is hard to give up.

Went from a gasser to a DP then back to a gasser (regretted going back to a gasser. I now have a DP and this is the motor home I will stick with, love it. In fact, just got home from a 3 1/2 week outting, including a week at Quartzsite.
