Georgetown 351DS

I'm not sure it's taken anyone as long as it's taken us to make a decision on an RV. Seriously, we've been talking about it off and on for years now. It seems to be a bigger decision for us than the purchase of our home. LOL!!

The biggest problem we've had is trying to decide which RV is best and we couldn't agree. Now we seem to be in agreement. With two young children and three dogs that would be riding along, a Class A just makes the most sense to us.

Today, I looked at about 12 new and used Class A's. The last one I looked at was a 2014 Georgetown 351DS. I walked in and loved it immediately. Of course the girls loved it too. Bunks with their own little t.v's. It even has a pull down bed above the driver/passenger.

Hubby hasn't been able to see it yet, but I took lots of photos and he really liked what he saw. Before we go look again though, I wanted to find out if anyone here owns this motorhome and get your thoughts on it.

Thanks.

When it comes to rv's go with the floorplan that you like. Forest River gives a lot bang for buck. Just remember the less you spend when you buy, the less you lose when you sell or trade.

We've had our Georgetown 351DS for over 2 years now, and love it. Going on our 3rd season with it, and except for the usual minor 'quirks' you have with any new RV, it has been pretty much flawless.

Like you, we 'agonized' over this decision for a long time. Ultimately we liked the Georgetown better than anything/everything else we looked at. Everything about it just 'fit' best for us - floorplan, pricing, quality, dealer, availability, etc. Georgetowns are some of the best 'bang for the buck' you can get in a Class A.

Yes, you can spend several thousand more and get something with more 'bling' and maybe a little better quality (Tiffin, Winnebago come to mind). For us at least, though, after looking closely at all of them, we just were not convinced the difference in quality was significant enough to be worth all the extra $$ involved. That, and the 351DS floorplan just fit better for us than the other units we looked at.

PM me if you want more specific info. I've done several modifications to ours to make it even better, which I'd be glad to share with you.

We love ours. No it is not a Tiffin. As already mentioned you can find out anything you want to know on the Forest River forums.
Feel free to PM me and I will be happy to answer any questions or I can give you my cell # if you would like

We are very happy with our 11 year old Georgetown which we bought new in 2003.
I believe that in the years around 2010 to 2012, that Georgetown was the highest volume Class A gas models sold in North America, so there are a lot of them out there. Also Forest River is very well financed.

We went with the 350 TS - triple slide - but basically the same coach. No, it not a Monaco or Tiffin, but it's great value for the money. The Ford chassis is bullet proof, and the Geaorgetown has a lot of little upgrades and bells and whistles. With 2 twin 4 year olds, the Georgetown gave us what we need at the right price.

Checked them all out and found Tiffin Open Road stood well above the rest.
IMHO

I looked at this one as well. We ended up with the bounder classic instead. Walking through the 351ds, both the wife and I thought it felt not as well built as the Fleetwood, IMHO.

I did like the floor plan on both, and that is what really matters...
