Looking ahead, eventually the carpet in the front of the coach will need to be replaced...right now it's still in great shape so this query if only for reference...or I buy a coach that need carpet replacement. Since I know Nada about floor coverings I may be asking some rather dumb questions.First, I have heard/seen references to both a "floating" floor and screwed floor. What is the difference and what would be the most suitable for a MH.What other options should I look at besides Hardwood that still complement existing tile (unless I replace all the tile also)but still maintain high quality appearance?Thanks for any suggestions.

I found vinyl planking at lowes that looks like real wood. Easy install and looks awsome. Best part it is vinyl

Floating would be the best way to put hard floor down in a motorhome, I have floating hard floors in my house and its held up well after 10 years..

PergoThe Pergo type flooring is very commonly used and fairly easy to install.

just got done installing a sheet vinyl floor in my class A. measured and cut it a little bigger than measurements so we could adjust if needed, then cut along walls with a razor knife. Lays right down over the osb floor. Looks so good we didn't even have to install trim molding. We did make it easier by removing the dinette and the seats up front.

We went with Pergo in the living room and bedroom. Stayed with ceramic tile in the kitchen and bathroom. This a floating floor. It is also heated and controlled by a thermostat. Feet are always nice and warm. Best addition ever.

I ripped-out all our carpet (except under the bed) and replaced with the sticky vinyl 12" squares from Lowes. Did the slide too. Grouted a 1/8" gap between tiles and sealed. they look like ceramic tile but have been FARRRRRR more practical than the carpet. Biggest pain was getting the furniture out of the way. Cost me a few weekends and about $500 for materials. I would do it again.
Oh! I also took advantage of the opportunity and installed some sound deadening/heat reflecting layers up front prior to laying the vinyl. the vinyl itself made a noticeable difference by reducing road noise for the entire rig. that was a nice surprise.

how much of the floor and what area's are we talking about?
You also mention existing tile?
Your patriot thunder is a high end beast, how much tile is there and what area's are tiled?

Are any of the areas that are carpeted butted to slideouts?
Thickness could get tricky there.

I'm probably the minority here but I like carpet in the living room and bedroom. We don't ever wear shoes in the rv so dirt and staining is not a issue. Also love my granite floor in kitchen and bath.
My buddy just spent a few grand on hard wood floors and then puts area rugs ontop.:S

We went with vinyl planking from Lumber Liquidators. We liked the 'Stone' look instead of 'Wood'.
We were able to rip out the carpet and install in about a week, 2 full time days and 3-4 part days.

The PO put in bamboo engineered flooring above heating elements. One for the bath area, the other for the front. Nice to have a warm floor when it is chilly outside.

The hardwood vs. carpet was a huge selling point for us as we have two kids and three dogs. There is still carpet in the rear bedroom, which is the only place it should be in a coach IMHO.

I don't think there was anything "entry level" about mine and it came with wood looking vinyl. At least I think its vinyl.......I didn't want any carpet. Been there and done that.....Its a RV not my home.
