Has anyone installed or tried either of the following:Airtabs http://airtab.com/about-airtab.htmFridge-fix www.smartrvproducts.comWe have used the small battery powered fans and they do seem to help move air but in small amounts.The airtabs just seem interesting since many big trucks are going to measures to break up the rear vacuum that exists on their wagons. This past few days the rain and road wash got all over the camera and so I know something is going on back there.

I use this & it does help, about $20 on Ebay.Unit is self grounding, in-line fused power lead connects to either the interior door light or through the frig safety drain down to the 12 volt power supply on the back of the frig. About 5-minutes to install.

There is a reason you don't see air tabs on truck fleets. What you do see is skirts and tails.Air tabs are merely vortex generators and you can make your own. Buy some plastic angle stock, cut a bunch of short lengths and try them on one side of the RV....they need to be cocked a bit relative to the air flow to do their thing. You can stick them on with double back foam tape and they will stay long enough for a science project. They don't have to be the same shape as air tabs. After a while if they do work you should see a difference in the dirt from one side of the RV to the other. Just to make sure then move them to the other side to account for the variable of one side being more exposed to traffic vs the curb side. Google images of vortex generators and you'll see all kinds of them.

Also, putting nitrogen in your tires will almost double your gas mileage...:W...Dennis

I have the fans on my fridge. Easy way to keep rear fins defrosted. Also balances temperatures from top to bottom of fridge.I have air tabs. Do they work? Yes. Do they save fuel? If they do it is very small. Handling is improved with side winds. Best place I used them was on bottom of cab over. Stopped wind noise around cab side windows and doors.

Fins in food section provided the cooling effect.
Natural circulation does occur (cold settles/hot rises) but is lacking in food section due to size/items in compartment.
Fan helps distribute the cool air thru-out compartment for better overall cooling effect AND helps keep fins from icing up will cause warmer temps due to false readings.

I have checked the frig temp without the fan then turned the fan on & watched the temp drop by as much as 6 degrees within 5-10 minutes.

The only way I have found to increase my fuel mileage is not go anywhere, gave up on that idea. Every fill up I imagine the crappy hotel room I don't have to sleep in tonight and I smile....

Dennis tried it once, but he can't afford it any longer. He has too many big tires to fill & the coach floated too much becoming difficult to steer.

We had a moderator named Bill awhile ago. Handle was Westronics if I recall. He made many mods to his Jayco Class C and Air Tabs was one of them. His report was about like ronfisherman above. An Archive Search, Class C, Author "westronics", text "air tabs" might produce something. I'm in the middle of a project right now and can't go searching.
