Wondering if anyone out there can tell me where I can find brake pads for my Hawkins. The rv shop I am dealing with says they have looked everywhere for them but can find anyone who sources them. I told him I could bring it in and we can just take the wheel off snd look at the pad and get it’s make and model number and he says it won’t doong any good because he still can’t find anyone who sells them. I said check freightliner and he says he already did. Should I just find another place to get it worked on? Maybe a semi truck shop? Someone told me they are most likely Ford brakes. I just don’t understand why he can’t just look at my brake pad and go from there. Any suggestions? Thanks.
My '93 Oshkosh XCRD takes Dayton (or equivalent) calipers. If you call up Freightliner and give them the last four (six?) digits of your VIN; that's how my mechanic got the numbers for my calipers, rotors and front bearings. They won't work on it but have most part numbers.
Along with what Doug gave you, just jack it up and remove a brake and see who made them, most had the name on the back and a number and with that you can cross it to something that will fit and work.
