Guys I need help. We looked at a used 1999 Rexwell today that had a bulge down the side. Otherwise the coach is in great shape. My wife really likes it and wants me to purchase it. The wall is firm when I push and pull on it and the roof is excellent.

Is this a show stopper? I have pictures but not sure how to upload.

He bought it for his girlfriend and they have since broke up. I spent a lot of time looking today and he seems very honest to me. He said it has not leaked while he has had it and I believe him.

You are taking a big chance. Dried out now but how about next heavy rains. There are too many RVs available to walk into a known problem that could cost alot. You'll find enough small problems in a used RV after you make a purchase.

I was thinking delamination also but the wall is hard. It is pushed out on the inside of the wall as well in places. No doubt it was caused by a passed leak but I don't believe it currently leaks.

I owned a ReXhall Aerbus of that same year. The bulge you describe sounds like delamination. If so, that is unusual for the Rexhall line of motorhomes. They are generally very well built with steel framing, not wood like so many others.

If it is a delamination, the value of the coach drops significantly.
Many would not even consider buying since repairs to a delaminated wall are very difficult and very expensive.

You might want to have the RV inspected by a professional. He can tell you the straight story.
My advice is worth exactly what you paid for it.

i wouldn't buy it. It sounds like delamination. It's caused by a leak somewhere. The only way to fix that I am aware of is to replace the wall which is expensive. I am not an expert. If the leak is fixed and you get it cheap enough it may last years but just look funky. Good luck.
