- CharlesinGAExplorerThe Cruise America units were custom built for CA by Thor. They are quite literally, idiot proofed. No electric steps to fail and stay out, no awning to leave out for a storm to destroy or to be driven with it not stowed correctly, lots of stuff made heavy duty compared to regular RV stuff. Curtains instead of the fragile day/night shades used in other RVs, the back up radar is another example. Lots of thought went into these units.
Charles - MRiley37ExplorerThanks everyone, it was a rear bumper sensor controller. There were no sensors on the bumper but it did have four holes pre-drilled and also a cut wire harness, so easy for me to hook up. But thank you so much to everyone that helped me figure it out.
- gotsmartExplorerOn my 2005 28R the black rectangle in the middle of the rear bumper is a backup sonar alarm. The wiring runs all the way forward to a box behind the drivers seat.
I have a bike rack and a tow bar installed. I unplugged the connector behind the black rectangle. The bike rack/tow bar interferes with it. - CwglIndnExplorerI spoke to a fleet manager last week and he stated the backup sensors are cut off if they become damaged or they replace the bumper. If you have the four sensors they are for black devices on the bumper with leads coming off and into a bundle for the four wires.
If you DO NOT have the sensors, the connectors probably were cut off just below the back of the RV. Mine are cut and the four black wires are in a plastic harness leading up. The bumper has four holes that are sealed with metal buttons, that could be popped out later. - Camper8251Explorer

BACKUP ALARM
Your motorhome is equipped with a backup alarm. This
alarm consists of a loud repetitive “beep” “beep” “beep” to
warn people behind you that you are backing up. This tone
is automatically generated whenever you put the gearshift
lever in the reverse position.
BACKUP RADAR
Your motorhome is equipped with backup radar. This radar
beeps inside the cab whenever the vehicle nears an object.
The radar beeps slowly when you are within 6 feet of an
obstruction. It beeps quickly when you are within 2 feet
of the obstruction. When you hear this quick beeping,
stop backing up!

I recently purchased a 2015 class C and was doing some work under the bed in the rear and came across this. Anyone know what is is?
Well, the little car with sound/radar/radio waves coming out the back should be a good clue that it has something to do with the rear of the RV.
I agree with what others have said ... it's probably part of the backup alarm system.
By the way ... is the chassis a Ford E350 or a Ford E450? - Looked at a generic Majestic manual. Indicates that there is an optional Dometic digital thermostat that takes a control board. Could not find information on control board.
What does your thermostat look like? - IAMICHABODExplorer II

Wow, thanks so much for all the replies, I have a lot of things to look for now. It does have a C connection it just fell out when I took the picture. There are no sensors on my back bumper it’s solid metal. But maybe that was put in there just in case they added sensors at a later date. My RV is a class C 2015 Thor majestic on a Ford E4 50
Welcome to the Forum
The RV you have is a Former Rental from Cruise America, most if not all came with backup sensors in the rear bumper. It may have been removed when they refurbished it. This has come up on the Rental Thread many times, you might look under the rear of the RV and see if there is a tied off bundle of wires this is common on them.
There are a lot of Cruise America owners on that thread, it is a long read but you may find some thing that may be helpful.
You can see one of them here, those dots on the rear bumper are the sensors. - MRiley37ExplorerWow, thanks so much for all the replies, I have a lot of things to look for now.
