How can youtell if you have a heat pump?

I have a 07 Fleetwood Southwind 32V, has two roof mounted AC units, anyway to tell if one or both are heat pumps? Thanks
Brian
  • By the Model number of the AC unit, or you remove the top shrouds and IF you have a Heat Pump, you will see a solenoid/valve assbly mounted in the copper lines. It will have 4 copper lines going to it. Model number is the easiest way. Doug
  • If the compressor runs in your A/C unit and heat comes out your vents, you have a heat pump.

If just the fan in your A/C unit runs, you have an electric heat strip.

  • I presume you have Coleman AC's? Any indication on your thermostat? On the Dometic thermostat, there is a setting for "heat pump"
