How much to paint a 40 foot Class A?

I have seen a few Class A diesel pushers for sale that have peeling paint and peeling decals on the sides. Anybody have a rough idea how much it would cost to have these painted? I'd like to know how much it would cost before I make an offer.

I had my coach Painted at McKinney in Red Bay Al, did a superior job. The cost was not close to the quotes here. Daniel McKinney is the owner and stands behind his work. I even had the slide out painted with the stripes. I would recommend him to anyone.

X2 for Mikes in Bremen. Did mine 3 years ago. Still get comments on my class C thinking it's the new to come out Chinook. It's a 1997!

I had the checking issue and had the sidewalls replaced and the entire coach repainted at Newmar for $15,500. This is only valid for Newmar coaches.

My 40 ft Country Coach has the microchecking and I was quoted $30,000 and 3 months to do the job. The panels have to be replaced. I've seen their work and it's top quality with lifetime guarantee. My checking is minor and tolerable considering the cost to fix.

Looks like he's still shopping so no particular rig although he was looking at some 02-03 National Tradewinds. I would say a minimum of $15K and doubt he is aware of the paint checking...OK it's not the paint but the fiberglass under the paint.
This post is my opinion (free advice). It is not intended to influence anyone's judgment nor do I advocate anyone do what I propose.

He's probably talking about the clear coat peeling. On going issue with a lot of coaches, mine included. Any cracking he may be seeing is probably due to the faulty fiberglass panels they used back in 03 thru 07 that has a crazing problem. Again mine included.

To the OP check out mikescustompainting.com in Bremen,IN. He has a pretty detailed web page and explains his process. Give them a call they paint a lot of coaches. I will be seeing them as soon as I get the time to get my coach over there. Good Luck.

ALL DP I have owned and currently own are factory painted and don't have decals? and I have never personally seen paint peel on fibreglass surfaces? what particular year and model diesel pusher have you seen this exact situation on ??

He's likely referring to fading and cracking paint, versus peeling.

I had a bid to remove the peeling clear coat, fill a couple of holes and repaint the coach for $29,000. This was for a 4oft coach and very simple graphics

Well it will depend on several factors including who does the work, quality of paint used, how much prep is involved (labor is the big cost), number of colors and the graphic scheme.

I had a 36' DP painted in 2011 for $13,500 and it was a beautiful job with excellent prep and high quality Dupont paint. I suspect a decent job with base coat/clear coat with 3 to 4 colors would run at least $18K - $20K. Some folks talk about going to Mexico and getting really cheap paint jobs but that would not be for me.

I understand that you can get excellent paint work for a fraction of the U.S. Cost across the Mexican border.
