HVAC/where to start?

Question

1999 Bounder, Intellitec system, does not work automatically. Heat will work with thermostat and work automatically to set termperature. Cooling will not work automatically. Units cool the motorhome well, but will not shut off when set on automatic. I have replaced both sensors with no result. As the system is obsolete and parts are not available, where do I start to correct and make the system work automatically to maintain the desired temperature?

PS-I would post a picture if I could figure out how!

It's because the Intellitec controller keeps the fans running until the temp gets 2 degrees below the point the compressor turns off. My thought was "how will the temp get 2 degrees lower with the compressor off?"
